We hope you can check out these two great programs coming up this weekend. Look for our fall lineup of programs and festivals to follow shortly!
Bats!
Friday, September 17, 6:30–8:00 p.m.
Cost: Non-members – $5, Members – $4
Delve into the secretive world of bats! Shaver’s Creek has a large bat house population of Little Brown Bats that provide a spectacular display of aerial acrobatics during the summer months. Following a sharing of bat information, we will walk to the Shaver’s Creek bat houses and watch as the resident bat population emerges and forages for food.
Fall Flora Photo Workshop
Sunday, September 19, 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Cost: Non-members – $5, Members – Free
Join photographer and longtime Shaver’s Creek volunteer Denise Wagner for this course open to any photographer who wishes to learn more about capturing the beauty of flowers. Knowledge of aperture and shutter speed and being familiar with your equipment is helpful but not necessary.
Shaver’s Creek is open from 10:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m., seven days a week*. Admission is FREE, but some programs may carry a small fee. All programs are offered at Shaver’s Creek unless otherwise noted. Call us at 814-863-2000 to register for programs, or visit www.ShaversCreek.org for more program information.
*Due to the ticketed nature of the Shaver’s Creek Music Festival, the center will not be open to the public on Sunday, September 26.
