Greetings all,
A sunny, cold and rewarding morning to be out and about with 8 other enthusiastic mid-week birders, including 4 of our Penn State students. We decided to do a mini “field trip” (rather than a bird walk) to Hutchinson Pond and the West Entrance of Stone Valley to take in Puddle Perez, which is looking more lake like with the recent rains. Highlights included Wood Duck, Ruby-crowned & Golden-crowned Kinglets, Sapsucker, and a pair of Harriers among others. Wednesday 7 am walks continue until May 11th. Birding Cup is on the horizon, May 6-7; combined this year with the PA Native Plant Society’s sale at Shaver’s Creek on May 7th. More details to follow.
