Youth discover and explore at Shaver’s Creek
Wednesday, July 13, 2011
A forest full of birds, snakes, frogs and bugs awaits inquisitive campers at Penn State’s Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center.
Shaver’s Creek is hosting a variety of day camps for children ages 4 to 15 throughout the summer. The camps focus on wildlife awareness, exploring habitats and forests, and emphasize the interrelationship of all living things.
Campers are guided day-to-day by Shaver’s Creek staff as well as Penn State student volunteer guides. The trails, streams and meadows at Shaver’s Creek provide the perfect setting for exploring and learning about regional forests and wildlife.

Please pass this on to the education director about wanting to enroll my soon to be home-schooled 5th grader in Lewistown, who would like to participate in the overnighter held in May with the school. Let us know what we need to do to make this happen? Thank you. We would also like to be sent a scholarship application to help with financial assistance for this event. Thank you.
