Join Shaver’s Creek staff Alexa Sarussi for a free, in-person morning of nature journaling.
Meet us at Tudek Park for a plant-focused nature journaling adventure! Shaver’s Creek Naturalist Doug Wentzel will share tools for plant identification including Newcomb’s Wildflower Guide and iNaturalist, and Sarah Chamberlain, PSU Herbarium Curator, will teach us how to press plants to add a new element to our journal pages. Bring a packed lunch for an optional picnic after our formal program time for more community building and connection.
This session will introduce participants to diverse nature journaling techniques. It will culminate with sharing our learnings and reflecting together. All ages, families, and individuals are welcome. We encourage parents to bring children who express genuine interest in nature drawing and to monitor their behavior. Youth participants must be accompanied by an adult participant.
Registration is capped at 20 participants.
