Join Shaver’s Creek staff Alexa Sarussi for a free, in-person morning of nature journaling at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center!
We will explore zines as a way to tell stories about the natural world. Zines are miniature hand-made books, often created using just one piece of paper folded in a special way. Dom Feola, zine enthusiast and Shaver’s Creek marketing specialist, will join us to share all about the joy and art of making zines, and how we can use storytelling to deepen our connection with nature. We’ll see examples before making our own zines to fill with observations and curiosities from a wander along the park trails. Materials will be provided, and the program will take place in an outdoor pavilion.
All ages, families, and individuals are welcome. We encourage parents to bring children who express genuine interest in nature drawing, but ask that they monitor their behavior. Youth participants must be accompanied by an adult participant.
