Join Shaver’s Creek staff Alexa Sarussi for a free, in-person morning of nature journaling at Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center!

This month, we’ll be at Shaver’s Creek in collaboration with the Penn State Center for Virtual/Material Studies (CVMS) to learn about creating dye from lichens! The CVMS staff will share about historical and modern processes for creating lichen dye, before walking us through the steps to create dye together.

All ages, families, and individuals are welcome. We encourage parents to bring children who express genuine interest in nature drawing, but ask that they monitor their behavior. Youth participants must be accompanied by an adult participant.
